Are These HR Challenges Affecting Your Business?
You don't have an experienced HR manager.
Managers struggle with discipline, absenteeism or poor performance.
Employment contracts and policies are outdated or incomplete.
HR work is being handled by administration or accounts.
Employee complaints are taking up too much management time.
Your business is growing but HR systems haven't kept up.
You need senior HR guidance but not a full-time appointment.
If you recognise two or three of these, you don't necessarily need to recruit an HR manager.
You need an experienced HR consultant in Mauritius who can step in, assess the situation and put the right systems in place.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you act as our part-time HR manager?
Yes. This is one of our most requested services. We act as your part-time HR manager in Mauritius on an agreed schedule — visiting the workplace, meeting managers and employees, handling disciplinary and performance matters, preparing letters and contracts, and advising you before important HR decisions are taken.
Do you visit our workplace?
Yes. On-site visits are part of most retainer arrangements, and the frequency is agreed in advance — weekly, fortnightly or monthly. Being present in the workplace is how we understand your operation, meet your supervisors and deal with employee matters properly. Remote-only support is also available where that suits the business better.
Can you support our existing HR officer?
Yes, and this is a common arrangement. Many companies have an HR or administrative officer who manages day-to-day work well but has no senior HR support behind them. We provide that senior layer — guiding them on employment law, employee relations and complex cases, and reporting to management.
Can you handle disciplinary cases?
Yes. We first establish the facts and review the records, then advise on the correct procedure under the Workers' Rights Act, prepare the documentation, and support management through the process. Disciplinary and termination procedures in Mauritius carry detailed procedural requirements, so we work methodically rather than rushing a decision that could be challenged later.
Can you prepare employment contracts and HR policies?
Yes. We draft and update employment contracts, HR policies and employee handbooks to reflect current Mauritius labour law and your actual working practices — including shift work, overtime, leave, probation, confidentiality and disciplinary rules.
How quickly can you assist with an urgent employee matter?
Retainer clients have direct access for urgent matters and we normally respond the same working day. For companies not yet on a retainer, we can take on an urgent employee relations matter as a separately quoted assignment.
How are monthly HR consultancy fees calculated?
Fees are based on your employee numbers, the number of workplace visits, the services in scope and the expected hours per month. You always receive a written proposal setting out scope and fees before work begins. One-off assignments can be quoted as a fixed project fee instead.
Do you provide payroll and recruitment separately?
Yes. Payroll and recruitment are quoted separately from HR consultancy, so you only pay for what you use. We can also work alongside your existing payroll bureau or accountant rather than replacing them.
Will our employee information remain confidential?
Yes. Employee records, salary information, disciplinary cases, medical or personal data and management discussions are treated as strictly confidential, held securely and shared only with the people you authorise. A confidentiality clause forms part of our service agreement, and we will disclose any potential conflict of interest before accepting an engagement.
Can you support a foreign company employing staff in Mauritius?
Yes. We regularly act as the Mauritius HR presence for companies whose group HR team sits overseas — setting up compliant contracts and policies, handling local employee matters, and coordinating work permits and expatriate arrangements. See our occupation permit and company incorporation services for related support.
Do we really need an HR consultant?
If HR is currently being absorbed by administration or accounts, if managers are unsure how to handle absenteeism or misconduct, or if your contracts and policies have not been reviewed in years, the risk is already sitting with the business. An initial consultation will tell you whether you need a one-off intervention or ongoing HR support — sometimes the honest answer is that you need very little.
Which sectors have you worked in?
Our experience covers logistics and freeport operations, hospitality, construction and major international projects, along with professional services and SMEs. That includes shift workers, large seasonal workforces, foreign workers and work permits, as well as professional and senior management populations.

part-time HR management or a fully outsourced HR function — and tell you honestly which one fits.
